Character

In the first season, Mina is 13 years old. She is an excellent student and a very cute, funny, and well-behaved girl. Like many siblings, she is constantly teasing her older brother and never misses a chance to be cheeky around him. She almost always wears dresses or skirts, which adds to her charming appearance.

One of my favorite things about Mina is her logic. It’s absolutely hilarious, and I often find myself laughing out loud whenever she explains her reasoning. I also love the subtle way she confesses her feelings throughout the story, even though it occasionally leads to minor misunderstandings. Her facial expressions are fantastic as well. Thanks to the artist’s skill, every emotion is clearly visible in her face and eyes.

In the second season, Mina is 18 years old. She develops a gorgeous sense of style and becomes even more appealing as a character while still maintaining the qualities that made her lovable in the first season.

Jack is Daniel’s best friend and is already 20 years old in the first season. Despite his difficult family background, he remains kind, affectionate, and dependable. His constant smirks are incredibly charming and often leave me wishing I could meet someone like him in real life. The artist does an amazing job conveying his personality through his expressions alone—you can always see his playful nature reflected in his eyes.

In the second season, we gain more insight into Jack’s thoughts, which reveals a great deal about his feelings for Mina and the internal struggles he faces because of them. We also learn that Mina plays an important role in helping him heal from the wounds of his past. It is refreshing to see a female character with a happy and healthy upbringing supporting someone who is dealing with family-related trauma rather than being burdened with similar issues herself.

Daniel is Mina’s older brother and is also 20 years old in the first season. Like Jack, he is tall and good-looking. The siblings are constantly bickering, and he nags her almost every day, but beneath all of that he is deeply protective of and caring toward his sister. Their interactions are some of the funniest moments in the series and add a lot of charm to the family dynamic.

The three main characters do not undergo dramatic character development, but that is not really necessary for this type of story. What keeps the series engaging is the comedy, the chemistry between the characters, and the gradual progression of their relationships. The appeal lies less in major transformations and more in spending time with these characters as they navigate everyday life together.

Art

The artwork does far more than simply illustrate the story—it actively contributes to its charm and personality. The variety of speech bubble shapes, styles, and sizes adds to the manga’s cuteness and gives each page a lively, energetic feel.

The first season makes extensive use of pink tones, which can be found throughout the artwork. The pages are filled with playful, childlike, and sparkly details that perfectly capture Mina’s youthful perspective and enhance the lighthearted atmosphere of the story.

In the second season, the visual style matures alongside the characters. The colors become less bright and high-contrast, with darker and more subdued tones reflecting the transition from childhood to adulthood. The speech bubbles also become larger and more uniform in shape, creating a calmer and more mature presentation. Even so, the artist occasionally breaks up these more structured layouts with small humorous illustrations and playful visual gags, preserving the charm that made the first season so enjoyable.

One particularly cute detail—although it could be considered a minor spoiler—is that once the two main characters start dating, they begin wearing matching outfits.

My Personal Reading Experience

This manga is clearly one of my favorites. The chemistry between the main characters and the siblings, the naturally developing and healthy relationship, and the consistently hilarious comedy are what make this story such a great addition to my healing romance recommendations.

As a reader, I was constantly rooting for the characters and eagerly waiting for Jack to finally pursue Mina. When he eventually did, his actions and behavior were incredibly satisfying to watch, making the payoff feel well earned after such a slow and careful buildup.

Another aspect I appreciate is how relaxing the story feels. There is no unnecessary drama, no constant stress, no chaotic misunderstandings, and no overbearing side characters competing for attention. Instead, the story remains focused on its charming cast, their relationships, and the small moments that make their journey so enjoyable to follow.
